After I recovered my old couch - here's another picture of her with me and Bobbie McGee in 1996 - I had an empty(ish) spot in the sunroom and a drop cloth that had been covering said couch.

Recovery (Part 3)

My original couch had 2 cushions with removable covers but I decided to make 1 ginormous cushion and forego the option of removal. I kludged together a couch cushion with the foam that I had left over, and wrapped it in cotton batting before starting the process of hand sewing the seams.

LifeSkillz

For the most recent session of LifeSkillz, we learned about finances. Not a lot, but enough for the kids to have a clue about what it takes to manage their money just a wee bit. The kids started off playing Monopoly. The girls seemed more into adhering to the rules and while David was more "creative" about where the bank or pot should go, based on his bad decisions.

This summer on my RDOs, I decided to host play days (and a little learning) at our house for the elementary aged friends of David and Aubri.

Miso Hungry!

The other day I listened to some food porn on NPR, and the ladies were discussing treats for adults. Treats with umami so I immediately started paying attention. I like miso soup just like most people, but I hadn't thought of adding miso to my baking. But I'm open minded so I purchased some aka (red) miso and some shiro (light yellow) miso.

18 months ago, Scott and I had the honor of dining with my friend Gail and her man, Nils, who is considered the "King of Cab", at the Saddleback Wine Cellars Dinner they hosted in Yukon. I was glad to partake in that lovely dinner punctuated by even lovelier wines and I had hoped they'd host a dinner in Norman sometime soon. Last night they did!

I should have enough concrete (60 lbs) to make a concrete jack o' lantern, a jack o' lantern planter,  cement brains (Writer's Block?),  a small garden orb and 2 heart stepping stones.  I can't wait!
