We recently drove down to Florida for survived my niece's wedding, family reunions and fun side excursions down in the South. We decided to caravan down with my sister and her family early Monday morning after hosting Father's Day lunch at our place.
After a night of not much sleep, we hit the road around 6:30 AM. Our first stop was a couple of hours away in Texas. Breakfast at Jack's in Denton. Then we only stopped for gas and bio breaks for us and the dogs until our late lunch.
We crossed into Louisiana at 12:50PM and the roads were immediately rough. We had planned to stay in Slidell (the halfway point for us) but we had a little excursion to take first, o satisfy my sister's craving.

Picnic of Cajun food to geaux... |
Dinner from Tony's: Boudin balls, fried shrimp and oysters...yum! We ate at a nearby park so the kids and dogs could run around for a bit afterwards.
Soon after, we were showered and tucked into bed for a few hours rest before the next leg of the trip.
