It's Alive!

A friend of mine gave me her Whale Fin Sansevieria plant when she moved away last summer. I did not feel worthy of this gift, but I accepted her and could not tell if she was happy for the longest time. Then, this spring she finally gave me a sign! Plants rule!

This year I'm trying to grow a few new things in the yard, like borage, zinnias, turmeric and peanuts! I didn't know that peanuts grew in Oklahoma! 

I also have (fingers crossed) a Chaos Pollinator Garden sowed with random seeds given to me by a friend. I am stoked about that and the frog fruit transplant that he gave me as well.

Self Carving Pumpkin

I brought back an extra pumpkin that we had on our camp trip last week thinking I would carve it up for Halloween in a couple of weeks. I didn't know it was of the self-carving variety...

Curious to see what it will look like for Halloween!

Fall Garden Plan(t)s

Trying to redeem myself in the harvesting arena as my summer garden yields were not so great. I do have 2 yellow watermelons and a cantaloupe that I don't think the squirrels have yet noticed growing in the other yard.

In this unused bed, I've planted kale, chard, bok choi, radish, carrots, lettuce and other greens. Fingers crossed that I will harvest something good. Before I worked the soil, there was a volunteer papaya plant and a tomato plant.
