At the last minute we decided to road trip to Austin this weekend to pick up a friend for our sweet Kirby.

We decided several months ago that the dog that we adopted for our family must be a rescue dog...and after we rescued Kirby from the local shelter (and being adopted by another), we fell in love with the Cavalier breed and wanted to give Kirb some companionship and someone to nap with and play with while we are away. It's true, Cavis are like chips, you can't have just one! We adopted Kirb's new mate, Abbey, from Cavalier Rescue USA, the Austin chapter.
